The Integrative Learning Experience (ILE) demonstrates the synthesis of all MPH Program Competencies through the course of the MPH degree. The ILE is completed at or near the end of the program of study (e.g., in the final year or term) and represents the culmination of MPH educational endeavors.

The ILE consists of three components:

  1. A high-quality written product that is based on the students Applied Practice Experience (APEX).
  2. Poster that represents the work done through the student’s APEX, along with presenting that poster at the MPH Program’s annual poster session in May.
  3. Portfolio that provides evidence (mostly through MPH coursework and APEX) that the student has successfully demonstrated their mastery of the MPH Program Competencies. The finished portfolio is then evaluated through a required portfolio review by MPH faculty.

Current student can find specific details regarding their ILE in the MPH Student Toolkit on Canvas. If you are a current student and are unable to access the toolkit, contact MPH Program staff to request access.
