For law students, the Juris Doctorate-Master of Public Health (JD-MPH) Dual Degree Program is a "step out" model, similar to our other dual degree programs.

Students complete the first two years of law school, focusing their coursework on the requirements of the JD Program, which may also cover some of the approved MPH electives. Students step out of the JD Program after their second year to begin their MPH year.

During the fall and spring semester, JD-MPH students complete the majority of their MPH requirements, then end their year in our program with the completion of their MPH fieldwork over the summer, before returning to law school to complete any outstanding requirements for both programs.
