MSTP Faculty Trainers

Students in the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) may study under the direction of faculty in many disciplines. Currently, there are over 80 trainers from many graduate training programs affiliated with the program.

MD-PhD students are not restricted to just these trainers. The research resources of the entire UW–Madison campus are available to our students, with any faculty member of a PhD degree-granting program or department having the potential to be a mentor of an MSTP student. Each trainer is associated with one or more PhD programs. Typically, a student chooses a faculty mentor first and a PhD program second, based on preferred course offerings and other training opportunities.

Use the Wisconsin Discovery Portal to locate the right UW–Madison researcher for your mentoring, collaboration and research needs. The portal provides easy access to information about more than 3,000 researchers at UW–Madison and is easily queried by research interests or keywords, faculty name, industry or company and patent number.
